Convenience stores are a notoriously difficult place for vegans to shop, especially for hot and ready-to-go foods, but a new campaign on IndieGoGo is determined to change that.
Convegance is seeking $50,000 in funding to become L.A.’s (and maybe the world’s?) only 24-hour 100% vegan convenience store.
Citing the lack of options for finding favorite vegan foods late at night or the annoyance of waiting on long supermarket lines for one or two items, Convegance would offer everything from frozen pizza and ice cream to grab-n-go nachos, sandwiches and drinks.
Through a store like Convegance, the team behind the effort hope to make being vegan “easy, convenient and extra fun” and show others that eating vegan isn’t nearly as depriving or difficult as they think. They plan to make it a quick, one-stop shop for all vegan essentials, and should it succeed, open more vegan convenience stores in other cities and states.
If you’ve ever hankered for a veggie dog or vegan soft serve at 3 a.m. or simply share in their vision for a plant-based 7-11, consider making a donation on their IndieGoGo page today. The campaign closes on May 15, 2015.
