Study: Vegan Diet Can Boost Moods at Work

If there’s a crankypants or two in your office environment, the answer to their negative energy might be easier than you think: get them to go vegan.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) got a group of Geico employees to opt into a low-fat, plant-based diet for four months, and the results were jaw-dropping. Basically, a vegan diet can boost moods at work, spark weight loss, help increase productivity and more, according to PCRM’s study.

According to BizJournals.com: “Participants dropped an average of 10 pounds and lowered their cholesterol by 13 points. But they also reported increases in overall productivity and saw improvements in anxiety, depression, fatigue and general health compared with workers at five other Geico locations in the study.”

To make life easier on study participants, they offered vegan meals in the work cafeteria, in addition to schooling participants on how to cook foods they’d enjoy. The end result is yet another example of the power of a plant-based lifestyle, because who doesn’t want to feel better at work?
