When paired against Peeps, Williams’ Sonoma ‘mallows and something from Etsy, Sweet and Sara’s vegan Peeps (aka Veeps) won’s blind taste test.

The judges were’s Associate Editor Laura Anderson and Dan Pashman, host of the Sporkful food podcast. Despite Pashman’s initial assumptions about the vegan Peeps, he and Anderson both loved the dense, flavorful taste of the handcrafted Veeps.

“I like vegan sweets in general. There’s a lot of good vegan baking out there, and this just reinforces that, at least in the sweet department, vegans know what they’re doing,” Pashman said, after learning which Peep he’d chosen.
